Winterizing Tips
It is best to hire a professional to winterize or de-winterize a home.

Turn water off at main supply valve
outside the house unless the heating system uses water. Tag the valve - DO NOT
TURN ON - WINTERIZED.
Drain hot water heaters and shut off gas
or electricity to tank.
Put anti-freeze in toilet tanks.
Fill all traps with anti-freeze.
Tape shut and tag toilet bowls with DO NOT
USE - WINTERIZED.
Tag sinks and faucets - DO NOT USE.
Set thermostat at 55-60 degrees and tag -
DO NOT CHANGE.
Check furnace to see if it is in operating
condition. Light gas pilot if necessary.
